Hi Toppie! I hope your technical issues have resolved. And I hope the car is better too! Sounds like it was a good birthday. Hope you are well…looking forward to hearing about how everyone is wrong about Roger Bunting being sketchy and all of this slander will be washed away by the truth… 🙂 OK, honestly, I am suspicious too…sorry Roger. 😦

Hi Crone! Here it is! My mother’s CHOCO-DOT PUMPKIN CAKE
2 cups sifted regular all-purpose flour
2 Tsp baking powder
1 Tsp baking soda
1/2 Tsp salt
1 1/2 Tsp cinnamon
1/2 Tsp ground cloves
1/4 Tsp allspice
1/4 Tsp ginger
2 cups sugar
(sift together the above ingredients in a med mixing bowl)
4 eggs
One 1-lb. can (2 cups) pumpkin
1 Cup vegetable oil
1 cup KELLOGG’S BRAN BUDS cereal (bran flakes work ok too — Toppie)
One 6-Oz. pkg (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 Cup coarsely chopped walnuts
Confectioners sugar glaze (optional)
In a large mixing bowl beat eggs until foamy. Add pumpkin and oil to eggs & mix. Add the bran buds or flakes and the rest of the dry ingredients to egg and oil mixture, mixing all very well. Finally, stir in walnuts and choco-chips. Pour into bundt pan (or other tube pan). Bake in 350 degree oven for one hour plus 10 minutes. Allow to cool before drizzling confectioners sugar glaze over top cake.
