It’s a good old chat fest today! Toppie discusses “living in the moment,” a skill he does not posses. He also talks about how dreamy he thinks fellow podcaster John Ong’s voice is over there at Ongline and Ding Da Bell podcasts. One of John’s recent podcasts had him preparing for a lunch out with friends and featured a good 10 minute shower and his careful selection of what to wear. This leads Toppie to contemplate how and why he is such a bad gay. Looking slick, hip and stylish is not a priority for Toppie. He’s more of a t-shirt and jeans — kind of a roll-out-of-bed-and-go kind of guy. And maybe he doesn’t trim his beard often enough. And maybe he could stand to lose some weight. Okay, a lot of weight. And okay, sometimes he sort of looks like a well-fed homeless person. Sometimes. But is that so wrong? You can reach Toppie at smellcast@aol.com

I’m also an unfashionable gay. But so are most of my friends and acquaintances. Maybe this idea that gay guys are all fashionistas is a myth perpetuated by the media. We’re the real deal and those images on the screen and in magazines are the illusions.
