    Hey Toppie,

    As an ex-smoker, I have few suggestions on quitting:
    1. Take all of the cigarettes in your house and throw them away at work or some other remote location. If you have cigarettes in your house or trash, you will eventually smoke them. Trust me on this.
    2. When you crave a cigarette, take a long deep breath. It sort of feels like smoking.
    3. Take a detached view of your cravings. When you crave a cigarette, admit it to yourself. Of course you crave a cigarette. But let your higher self, the part that loves you, stay in control. Every craving ends. Eventually your mind will switch to something else.
    4. Beware of nicotine patches or gum. I have a friend who kicked cigarettes but is now addicted to the gum. That’s not a solution.

    You can do it! You deserve the healthiest body your can get.

      Thank you for some very good suggestions Mark — and your encouragement. Number 3 hit me especially hard. That is a very helpful way to look at it. Yeah, I like the idea that there are some things I can do other than going cold turkey, but I really, really don’t want a substitution for smoking. I just want it to end.
